ABOUT
For many, renting in Brighton is not as idyllic as it sounds. Extortionate rent, cost of living, black mould and families being evicted with section 21 notices; having a safe and stable home can seem like the impossible.
Born out of frustrations with the sorry state of the renting market in her hometown and the inability to see a future where she can buy her own house, Brighton artist Bryony Devitt decided to take those frustrations and turn them into something productive.
Having always wanted to put on an open house Bryony decided to make a Portable Open House and invite artists both local and international to create small pieces of work to exhibit.
It has been a joyous experience and Bryony would recommend renovating a house to anyone... gotta start small on that property ladder!

Bryony is also supporting Community Union ACORN who do amazing work supporting regular folk to self organise and fight back against the unfortunately all too frequent unfair situations put upon renters.
